Reconstruction of the original Fenwick's shop in Frenchgate.
John James Fenwick, the founder of the department stores in Newcastle, York and London, started his working life in his father’s grocers shop in Frenchgate, Richmond.
The reconstructed grocers shop was officially opened by his great-grandsons, John and James Fenwick on May 20th 2008.
